Segue is the most cost-effective Option

While traditional methods of exposing students to career realities are generally positive, none compare to the dramatic number of exposures per year that the Segue Program achieves. Segue provides a breakthrough in cost-effectiveness by utilizing community volunteers who inspire high school students to take action on their future.


"Job shadows" (one student spending half a day or more with an adult at work) can be a positive experience, yet the math on cost-effectiveness, and the need among thousands and not just a few students to be exposed to career options, overwhelmingly favors Segue. With a job shadow, one adult spends at least four hours and serves one youth; with Segue, one adult spends two hours and serves about 100 youth (in three classes). The net is that in half the time the number of students served is 100 vs. 1, making Segue 200 times more cost-effective at exposing students to a variety of career options.
